Where are our tanning mousses made?
All Mother of Tan mousses are proudly made and packaged in Australia.
What type of DHA is in Mother of Tan self tan products?
All our self tanning products are made with 100% natural DHA.
Is Mother of Tan appropriate for all ages?
Our self tan is safe for all ages and skin types however simply patch test the day prior to check for skin sensitivity particularly on people under 16 years old.
Will I turn “orange.”
Mother of Tan is proud to deliver an amazing natural looking glow. We have spent a very long time testing and changing ingredients that will work with the individuals’ skin tone that will not turn orange.
How can I cover stretchmarks?
Mother of Tan self tan can help reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Simply apply a small amount of product to the area with a cotton tip. Leave overnight then wash away. Apply your all over tan as normal.
Does Mother of Tan have that “biscuit” smell?
This smell is simply derived from an ingredient called DHA found in all tanning products. In order to disguise this smell for as long as possible we have added a beautiful Strawberry Daquiri fragrance, invigorating that holiday feeling. This makes the whole tanning process very pleasant and enjoyable.
Can I use while pregnant?
All self tan products are generally safe to use during pregnancy, we do however highly recommend you consult with your doctor.
How do I apply the self tanning mousse?
We recommend applying Mother of Tan with our luxurious velvet tanning glove and sunless tanning brush for a streak free, flawless tan.
What is the difference between Dark and Ultra Dark?
DARK- Natural looking self tan as you would look coming back from a Mediterranean holiday.
ULTRA DARK - Your darkest possible self tan without the “orange”.
We recommend applying Mother of Tan with our luxurious velvet tanning glove and sunless tanning brush for a streak free, flawless tan.
How long do I leave tanning mousse on?
The longer you leave your tan the darker your tan. For a dark tan leave for 6-8 hours (or overnight).

Exfoliating FAQs
How long will my self tan stay on?
5- 7 days on average if you keep your tan hydrated. Using a daily moisturiser is recommended.
How do I remove stubborn fake tan?
Watch the remainder of your old tan peel off along with your dead skin cells with the Mother of Tan exfoliating glove. NO chemicals No nasties, just a natural glove and water.
How often should I replace my exfoliating glove?
It’s recommended by health professionals to replace every 6-8 weeks for hygiene purposes.
How often should I use?
We recommend for normal skin, once a week so that all natural oils are not stripped away. For customers with a more oily based skin you can use twice a week.
Can I use soap or creams with the glove?
No, the gloves work by using friction only. Make sure your body is free of all soap and not underwater when in use.
How does Mother of Tan exfoliating glove differ from others?
Unlike other exfoliating gloves we pride ourselves to be cruelty free and are not an advocate on harming silkworms. Our product have a thicker, tighter material that is “woven into silk”. The unique technique in the weave uses friction to catch the dead skin as you glide the glove up and down.
Will my skin visibly peel?
The longer you soak the better the results however it is dependent on how much dead skin or tan is on your body?
